THE MONTESSORI PROGRAM is designed to fulfill the needs of all children in various age levels and in many different areas:
PRACTICAL LIFE:  This area promotes coordination, orderliness and self-confidence. Your child’s experiences include care of self, care of environment and control of movement.
SENSORIAL:  These materials assist your child in learning to differentiate between sizes, colors, weights, textures, sounds, odors and tastes.  Sensorial exercises promotion of organization and classification skills.
LANGUAGE:  This area employs a phonetic approach to learning to read.  Vocabulary enrichment activities enable your child to classify the various environments, strengthen vocabulary and develop communication skills.  Working with different exercises cultivates handwriting skills.
MATHEMATICS:  Initially, your child is presented with concrete materials and manipulatives in order to build a solid foundation in understanding math concepts.  As the various skills are mastered and the concepts become more complex, more abstract work is then introduced.
GEOGRAPHY:  The children learn about the world around them, cultural diversity and distant lands.  Their experiences include working with globes, maps, flags and land forms.
SCIENCE:  Children learn about living and non-living things, parts of plants and animals, and begin to make scientific observations and discoveries.
MUSIC:  The focus is to develop an appreciation for music.  The children sing, dance and learn the basics of music.
ART:  A natural part of the Montessori classroom which encourages individual expression, this area is process rather than product oriented.
